This is the nature of life and we can learn to embrace it all, feel it all, learn from it all, see the beauty in it all.

Traditional psychology is about what's wrong with us and how to fix it. It aims to get people to a zero (just ok). Positive Psychology, founded in western society in the late 90's, focuses on what's right with us and how we enhance that. It aims to move people higher up the scale towards thriving.
At PEPTALK we believe there is so much more to life than just being ok, or just coping. We are all about getting you as far along this continuum towards +10 and helping you stay there.
When you're thriving, you feel your best and are able to be your best for yourself and others; but thriving also means your resilience is higher. The further along the right side of the scale you sit, the less likely you are to slip down into the negatives (mental distress) when life's inevitable challenges come along.
Your mind is your greatest asset. It is the most incredible tool you carry around with you every day. Your mind is the basis for how you think, feel, and act. It is at the centre of every decision you make and every conversation you have. Your mind is literally the control centre of your life. Many of us don't know how important our mind is and how to harness it.

My personal why

Hi I’m Nadine. My own walk from mental illness to mental wellness taught me many lessons about how (both) powerfully destructive and powerfully constructive the mind can be. Along the way, I learned the skills to use my mind in positive ways and help myself be and stay mentally well.
A few years ago, as the media began to report regularly about a global mental health crisis, I felt frustrated that there seemed to be a focus on treatment services, with little resources going towards teaching people the skills to help themselves psychologically thrive. I sensed a growing culture of dependency in our society.
I then discovered the science of wellbeing. Inspired by my own experiences and knowing that over two decades of research shows that the skills for thriving are teachable and learnable, I felt determined to present these skills in a way that engaged others and inspired them to put them into practice. I used my prior experience as a magazine editor, and love of designing and creating, to bring to life PEPTALK's print and digital resources and realise my dream of empowering others to thrive.
